"Stopping chemo on liver and lung cancer"

   Hi to all,

It is difficult for me to write these sentences. My father had cancer in both liver and lung, where to the liver it has spread from the lung. The doctors say that all over the liver the cancer has developed. The applied three times chemotherapy sessions. Afterwards my fathers body had difficult symptoms, pain in the stomach, difficulty in eating, loss of appetite and so on. Therefore the doctors cut the usage of chemotherapy and said that there is not a solution and let him die. It was shocking for me how they are easy at accepting the situation without even suggesting to try other alternative medications like herbal, DCA, or similar. My father is always in agony and at home. I dont know what I will do. The hospital says that there is not any empty room such that they can look after my father at least trying to make him comfortable. I have decided to take him to another hospital and use DCA or some other herbal nutrients. Probably there is no suggestion here for me to apply. I have tried to share my situation.

Wishing the best for all

Burhan

   merhaba Burhan,

I am sorry to hear your fathers disease. I am also very angry about the decisions of the doctors.
fist of all you'd keep reading the forum pages. there are really useful information on every page. Beside DCA, the site has an alternative treatments page, make sure you read and understand it well. I am not sure if it is right to call DCA an 'alternative', better call it 'experimental'. it is a serious drug and you must be aware of any condition while taking the drug.
you can private mail me through this site anytime.

geçmiş olsun.
best wishes to you and your dad.

   Hi to you, too!

I am very sorry to hear about your dad! Sounds terrible!

I do hope that I don't insult you or somesuch when I say that... well... I can understand the doctors reaction. No, no, let me explain!
About half of my extended family are doctors. Since I have a cancer myself (brain), I have talked to a lot of them about it, and about cancer in general.
To them, it's a very nasty thing, as it usually cannot be cured, thus they have to see terrible things connected with it. After a while, they simply have to force themselves to mentally withdraw from the shock and horror. Otherwise they'd be incapable of working at all.

I've heard of quite a few patients where they said that there really is nothing left, and the patient should have his last months peacefully at home.
DCA is something many doctors in the USA are worried about trying out, as there could be legal results, idiotic as this sounds. I'm lucky, I guess, as the docs here in Germany have heard little of DCA, and are quite willing to try it out...

In your place I'd try getting some pain killers for him, as well as DCA. You'll probably want to get him to a high-ish dose, say 25 mg/kg and see if it helps.
Having lived in the USA for a few years, I must admit to having a rather low opinion of your hospitals, and if they say they can't (or won't) help... would you want to leave him in a hospital room? He's much better off at home.

I wish you the very best of luck!

Ciao,
Klaus
