"Urgent Help Required"

   Hello all,
Advice desperately needed please. My dad 77 yrs old, is stage 4 NSCLC with mets to bones and glands. He’s in a bad way right now. No chemo, radio or surgery. His bone mets are really bad. He’s not on morphine as he’s refused it. We know it grows the cancer but he’s in so much pain. He’s being sick now and then, I thinks he’s cachexic now.
Can someone please give me a simple table like breakdown of a DCA protocol for me to follow?
He weighs 11 stone / 154 pounds / 70kg
Does this mean 700mg a day of DCA? Is this enough? Should he go on 1,000mg a day split into two 500mg doses?
What else do we add to this? Caffeine tabs or just tea? Vit B1, which type? What else?
Also, should we do one day on, one day off?
What foods to avoid?
He did Budwig since last October and did well. In march there was a reduction in the lung tumor but since then he refused some f the foods and went down hill from there. He takes 30ml a day of Sutherlandia OPC (oleander) but that takes months to do anything.
If there is a protocol in the posts, how do I find it?
Does DCA help with pain?
I am ordering DCA and MOXXOR today. I honestly don’t know how long he’ll last.
He’s currently taking;
Curcumin
NAC
Olive leaf
Rose hip
Selenium
Bone Support
Green Mussel (just begun)
Undenatured Whey
Sutherlandia OPC (Oleander)
Budwig Flax oil/quark blend (he struggles to eat it now)
He was on Vit D3 but I had to stop that. He was 0.1 away from being hypercalcaemic.
Has anyone else treated a loved one/themselves in this late stage of disease with good results using DCA?
We could really do with being in touch with anyone in the UK with DCA/late stage treatment. If anyone would like to talk to me, please give me your email details and I’ll send you my mobile number. Of course just emailing would be very much appreciated also.
Thank you all,
Jason.

Jason,

Sorry about your dad. I'd like to suggest you ask his doctor about Zometa for his bone mets, also calcitonin is sometimes used to treat hypercalcemia. Strontium can help too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoledronic_acid (first dose is 1mg and creatinine level should be done for a baseline)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcitonin

http://www.aor.ca/html/products.php?id=97 (both Research and Article tabs have great information)

Take care,
Sandra

P.S. DCA can reverse bone mets for some people. My MD has scans of a patient showing this. You will just have to try it to find out if it works for your father. I'd suggest also adding 3-4 grams of omega 3 fish oil DHA.

One more thing, Tramadol is a pain killer that he could use. It doesn't feed the cancer like morphine does.

http://www.lef.org/protocols/cancer/cancer_surgery_02.htm (see last paragraph)

If he is cachexic, the omega 3 fish oil can help. You may want to have him raise the dose of that, as tolerated. Too much will cause loose bowel movements.

Best wishes,
Sandra

   Hi!

Yikes, sorry to hear about your dad!

Here's the info I know about Sodium DCA:

* http://www.pharma-dca.com/ seems to be a reliable source.

* 70 kg weight. At such a bad state, take about 25 mg/kg - 1750 mg per day. You can split it into two doses (875 mg), just remember that he must drink quite a bit afterwards (two glasses of water at least) and eat a bit, if he can.
This makes sure that the DCA stays away from his stomach walls.

* Don't eat or drink anything hot or even warm after taking the DCA - it gets unstable at higher temperatures. Thus: cold tea only!

* Caffeine is a good idea: tea, coffee, perhaps even red bull?

* Vitamin B1 in the form of Benfotiamin, about 500 mg/day.

* I personal take DCA Mo-Fr, and none on Saturday and Sunday. Other people use a two week on/one week off pattern.

* I don't know of any foods to avoid.

Best of luck to you!

Ciao,
Klaus
