"DCA and potassium levels"

My husband has diagnosed wih Stage IV NSCLC in March 09. He underwent two different lines of chemotherpay and could no longer handle the side effects. He stopped the chemo on July 20th and began DCA on August 10th. He seemed to be doing very well - we are on a one week on and one week off but his blood works the last week have Potassium levels fluctuating very normal to high to normal and back to high. He has mets in his adrenlin glands as well as kidneys but they started to shrink. Anyone else have these types of side effects?

Barbara

Hi,

Sodium (table salt - NaCl) will usually drop potassium levels. They compete with each other. What is your doctor recommending?

Best wishes,
Sandra

Hi my wife also has stage IV lung cancer and we had the opposite effects from chemo. Her potasium levels dropped to dangerous level threatening her kidneys and forcing us to hydrate her with a curlin pump and a saline - potasium solution. We do not eat any rock salts of any kind and are pretty much sea salt people. Most of her diet is using Soy Sauce. Its wierd that your husband is having the exact opposite issue but it is a potassium issue.

We are lucky to have Dr. Nick Chen here at the cancer treatment and wellness Center. He has a PHD in immunology so when I talk to him about anything he tunes in fast. Things he cannot comment on he passes us to his naturopath so its working out very well.

There is a man on here who has gone into remission who also had Dr. Nick Chen.

NOTE: As of today he is getting a 100% response from "all" of his stage IV lung cancer patients and that includes the people sent home to die by the cancer care alliance folks - the biggest cancer org in town and most likely in the world being the are right next to sloan Kettering the most financed R&D org in the world.

Anyway there is no accounting for hard work and "real intelligence".

Have you ever heard of Proteolytic Enzymes - a friend of mine beat her cancer using them years back.

God Bless Us All!
