"DCA usage question"
| |
Back in late April I had a return of colon cancer or possibly a new lung cancer and documented it here. Still waiting on a second opinion from Sloan Kettering, have appointment this coming Thursday. Doing my homework before this appointment.Request... For many users DCA stops working or works less after some time, as I understand it from reading others comments on this site. I found an article somewhere, possibly here, that I have since lost that talked about a theory of why this happens, DCA losing its effectiveness, and then postulated that it would take 8 weeks for this problem to self correct if one stopped taking DCA. Hope that my memory is correct and that someone could direct me to any such article, paper etc. Question... Have been off DCA since July 19th because of Neuropathy which has gotten much better. I believe that I caused this by not taking B-1 for last 8-10 days I was on 2 gm of DCA. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether I could resume DCA at a lower dose, 1 gm DCA and say 1500 mg of Benfotiamine, without causing my Neuropathy to increase? Question 2... Anyone have any thoughts on trying multiple remedies at same time? DCA, R-ALA, Ribavirin, ARA-C, Artemisinin and LDN for example? Thanks |

Hi, My sister had the Ribavirin for about 4-5 days and her platelet count dropped and Medicor advised we stop both DCA and Ribavirin. A week passed and the Platelets recovered. Medicor has now advised we return only to the DCA. They have never seen this response before and other clinical trials of just ribavirin alone do not create this effect. it looks like DCA may interact with the Ribaivin. So in summary we have had to stop the Ribaivirin. I dont think many people in the world are taking DCA and Ribavirin together so the side effects are quite unknown. Luckily Anna had regualar blood tests so this was spotted early. Unless you have good doctors monitoring your blood results often and closely I would stay clear of the Ribavirin and DCA combo for now. If any of you more medical people can comment of how these could interact to drop the platelets it would be useful. Thanks Simon |

See my latest under Testimonials Topic #283 Do you have any other information on anyone at Medicor taking DCA and Ribavirin for colon cancer? You mention one patient. They don't have others? Love to know what their dosage is for Ribavirin and DCA. I am ecstatic over my latest results. I DID NOT expect this good news. I had only taken DCA for 18 days in the period between CT scans, July 13th to Sept 22nd. I had NOT taken any DCA for ten weeks in this period. I fully expected to hear that my tumors had grown and that I had to start on chemo immediately. To find out that my tumors had shrunk "significantly", that they now wanted to put off chemo for at least two months and that I was the picture of health otherwise with no symptoms was incredible. Love DCA. |
