"Prostate cancer"

I was diagnosed some 4 years ago with prostate cancer , where the cancer had already spread outside the prostate , and heading for the rectum , my doctor told me without doing anything I would have maybe 6 month to live,we decided on a radical prostatectomy ,lo behold a lot of things went wrong , a lot of blood loss and they had to kind of close me up in a hurry ,therefore after 3 month , I had my first PSA and it showed an alarming 3 , my surgeon then said I had cqancer throughout my body ,and more less in other words go home and live with it ,I then asked him if there was any cancer on my lymph node , and he said no , i said it is not possible , due to the problems on the operation table , that he may have left some there ,
he said possible , I then said more then likely, and I was going to beat this thing with or without him , he then said OK first things first , a lot of test, bone scans , organ scans . lymph nodes etc, and no cancer to be found, he then placed me on a Hormone treatment
which I was on for 2 + years,I then told him I wanted off as my PSA showed 0.03 constant once on the treatement , I now have been off the treatment for almost 2 years , had a Psa 3 month ago it showed
an increase up to 0.09 not much of an increase , however I am due back to see him in 3 month . I know that eventually even the Hormone treatment can not stop it , and have done some research , and came across this site, I have and received some DCA and started taking it
3 days ago 10 mg/kg ,I know you are going to say why bother when your PSA is that low , the point is it is going up , and I would love nothing better then to walk into my Doctors office in May with
a drop in my PSA, I am taking it every morning wit B1 I also take cod liver oil Vitamin E and Vitamin B and of course Lots of Coffee and Tea ( by the way I am 72 yeqars old and otherwise in perfect health , I will keep you posted , what happens once I get my next PSA

   Hi Bill,

Glad you discovered DCA and hope it works for you. DCA put my prostate cancer into remission and I had a very good run until I lost sensitivity in late 2008. In addition to the cod liver oil and Vitamin B (B1, for peripheral neuropathy?) you might add Zyflamend to reduce inflammation which can drive cancer, take a good bone supplement like Jarrow Bone-up to protect your skeleton against metastasis, and Vitamin D3.

Post surgery your PSA score is not nearly as important as your PSA Doubling Time (PSADT). Ideally, you want to see a doubling time of two years or longer. If the PSA begins to double faster than two years you should soon return to complete androgen blockade (an LHRH agonist like Lupron, an AR-5 inhibitor like Casodex or Flutamide, and a 5-AR inhibitor like Avodart) for at least 12 months. Remember, it's not the score that matters now, it's the doubling time.

Here's a good online calculator that will give your PSADT if you just plug in test dates and PSA values. This calculator is designed for scores greater than 0.1 but if you just multiply your scores by 10, the results will still be correct. For example, use 0.30 and 0.90 in place of the real scores, 0.03 and 0.09, and the dates of the tests.

All best wishes to you,

Randy

   Bill,

Forgot to mention that over time DCA limits its own metabolism and you will need to take time off periodically. I alternate between DCA and Artemisinin. A few notes you may find helpful:
