What you are doing is right,. leave it a few days to seeif the symptoms occur without the DCA to eliminate it.

Then re-introdue at say 5mg/kg/day and slowly build up.

Try to make sure she is drinking enough water, because it will help flush toxins from her body. But be sure her kidneys are working properly - that she is eliminating as much as she is drinking.

to protect against numbness

· feeling weak, drowsy, restless, or light-headed;

· hearing loss; or

I think your mother is having side effects from lasix - maybe she shouldn't be on it and DCA at the same time.
