"DCA forum"

I have been reading most all of the post's in the forum for quite some time and have come to realize that what is happening here is and will become a ground swell across the country and perhaps the world, for we are taking back our most basic human rights, the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, ... we can no longer allow our government to infringe on the personal choices we make in our right to life and can no longer let the profit motives of the pharmacuetical companies override our decisions as to what treatment we choose, .... it seems if we have the right to deny treatment and likely die then we should have the choice of selecting our treatment and possibly live, even if DCA proves ineffectual in human cancers we will have done in a few months what it would most certainly take the governmental agencies years to do.

If I may say, Jim Tassano and his family deserve more thanks than any of us could ever give them. Why? Because we as cancer patients have been conscripted into this war - they, bless their hearts, have ENLISTED! And they have valiantly taken great personal wounds (in the press - as to their motives and integrity) with graciousness and dignity.
Where's the 'applause' button?

I'll second that. Jim is taking flack in the press for making DCA available "at a profit." However, a compounding pharmacy in my area recently quoted $2,300 for the same amount of DCA that Jim makes available to cancer patients for $180.

One of the most difficult things about cancer is the loss of control over certain aspects of one's life. If we are old enough to vote, old enough to do the research and take responsibility for our medical decisions, if we are old enough to die, we are old enough to make an informed decision to give DCA a chance to put the brakes on our disease. Jim makes it a little simpler for some of us to excercise our right to decide and for that I owe him a debt of gratitude.

   I concur.
This forum is not only a format where we can come together and discuss our feelings personally but a venue to discuss our right to choice. I thank Jim for having the insight to present this forum in that sense as well. We have taken flack from the media and others and still standing...for the right to fight. Our people who are impacted by this disease have a voice and can be heard. So be it! We are given the oppotunity to share our experiences first hand. If the professionals are doing anything they are failing us as people with cancer and family members who are impacted. Am I delusional...perhaps ..but given the alternative of chemo and radiation than I rather don my rose coloured glasses and procede. However, I am seeing nothing of the sorts with DCA at this time that I had seen with traditional treatments!

Dear folks on the forum

I have not read all of the post on this website but I want to share with you something that I have learned about the root problem that causes thing manifests its self like we see with DCA a drug with potential being ignored by even our governments who stand to save millions in oncology treatments should it be effective.

I get a sense that many people are blame the big pharmaceutical companies for not developing it because there is no economic protection via patents for there investment of developing DCA. What many people do not understand is the our economic and corporate law prohibits corporations from developing cures for diseases where the corporations make money from treatments and monitoring equipment.

First you must understand what the legal responsibilities are for the boards of directors of a corporation are in most capitalistic economic law. The legal responsibilities of the corporate board members can be simplified into two major points 1) the first is that each board member has to make decisions that make money for the stakeholders or shareholders 2) they cannot break any laws while making as much money as possible for the company. Now on the surface that does not sound to bad, but the reality is that that will only keep the people of the world in eternal suffering and continued environmental degradation.

Here is how it works to keep us suffering. Let’s say a pharmaceutical company makes a billion or two a year selling treatments for and testing equipment diabetes. Now let’s say by accident the research and development (R&D) found a cure for diabetes. I say by accident because it would be illegal for the company directors to direct their R&D to look for a cure as it would cause the company to loose money. However, now that the cure has been discovered and brought to the attention of the board of directors for the company what do you think they have to do with the cure by law. If you said hide it from the world you are right. It is not illegal to hide technology you own or discovered. They are sometimes called trade secrets. And if you think the board of directors are horrible people for directing the company to hide the cure you must realize that they had no choice in the mater. Let’s say the directors decided to direct the company to put the cure on the market then each of them would be criminally charges with breach of trust and would be sued by the stakeholders in the company for all the losses caused by the cure.

So you see all we need to do is to put the public good or public interest ahead of corporate profits in law. We need to make it illegal for corporations to hide or have trade secrets that would be in the public good should it be brought to market. We will also need so serious whistleblower protection legislated at the same time.

Take a look at a video about a new invention. http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1371409127278996620&q=HHO+Gas The video was broadcasted in May of 2005 and you may be wondering why you have not heard anything about the amazing technology. Well just think what this technology would do to the oil & gas industry. Now we know the boards of directors of the oil companies have a legal responsibility to protect their stakeholders from such devastating losses. So as soon as they become aware of such a technology by law they must attempt to buy this invention and burry it and Mr. Kline becomes an overnight billionaire while the environment continues to be harmed by the burning of fossil fuels even through we have a solution. Remember, there is no law that requires companies to bring technologies that are in the public good to market. So we will have continued pollution which will contribute to many diseases like cancer and asthma.

Now you know the problem please write to our politicians and tell your friends about it. It is not that hard to understand. But so many people make money from the status quo that it will not be easy to address this problem. We don’t have to do much tampering with our capitalistic system to fix this problem. Maybe the public coffers could replaces some or maybe in come cases all the losses cause to a corporation who develops technology that is in the public good but will hurt the company financially. And the penalties for corporations who break the law need to be put out of business for breaching the public trust by holding technology back that would be in the public interest if brought to market.

I sat on a board of directors and experienced some of what I am writing about, while it was not something that would save the world that was being suppressed it would have been in the public interest if it were brought to market. When this information was brought to the boards attention there was a corporate lawyer there to make sure we knew what we had to do by law and what consequences we would suffer if we ignored the law.

If you have any questions about this information send them to me and I will try to answer them. But this has to stop if we ever plan to survive on this planet.

Wishing you well,

Dave
